Demands Rizieq 6 Years in Prison, Prosecutor: The Defendant Doesn't Maintain Courtesy and Complicates!

The public prosecutor or Public Prosecutor has officially charged Habib Rizieq Shihab with a sentence of 6 years in prison in the swab case take a look at the UMMI Hospital. A number of things were explained by the prosecutor which were considered burdensome for the charges against Rizieq.

There are at least four points that made the prosecution burdensome for Rizieq in the swab case take a look at the UMMI Hospital. First, the aggravating charge is that Rizieq has previously served two prison terms, in 2003 and 2008.


"The two defendants' actions did not support the government's software in accelerating the handling of COVID-19," said one of the prosecutors when reading out the demands at the East Jakarta District Court, Thursday (3/6/2021).


Then another thing that makes Rizieq's demands heavier is that Rizieq's actions are considered disturbing public security and order and causing unrest.

"Fourthly, the defendant did not maintain good manners and was complicated in giving information at trial," said the prosecutor.

The thing that eases Rizieq's demands is that the defendant is considered to be able to correct his actions in the future.

Demand 6 Years in Prison

Prosecutors have officially charged Rizieq with a sentence of 6 years in prison in the case of swab take a look at the UMMI Hospital. The prosecutor's request for six years in prison was stated because Rizieq was deemed legally proven to have conveyed false news about his health condition while being treated at the UMMI Hospital.

"The defendant Mohammad Rizieq Shihab alias Habib Rizieq Shihab was proven legally and convincingly to spread false news intentionally to cause trouble," said one of the prosecutors when reading out the charges, Thursday.
