Buleleng today

The target of the Red Cross (PMI) of Buleleng Regency through the Blood Donor Unit (UDD) of PMI Buleleng Regency in meeting the need for blood is still less than 3,000 bags from the annual target of 12,000 bags. This was stated by the Head of UDD PMI Buleleng Regency, dr. Rizani, Saturday, (28/8).

Further said by dr. Rizani, the achievement of blood fulfillment has only reached 9,000 bags from the target. Of course, this availability is still very lacking. To maintain the stock or availability of blood at UDD PMI Buleleng Regency, for those who need blood, the patient's family is required to donate blood as a substitute donor.

"We do this by compulsion, seeing that the availability of blood is very lacking. The need per day is only 30-35 bags. He hopes that donors will continue to donate blood regularly according to schedule. Currently, it takes 60 days to donate blood,” he explained by telephone.

Asked about efforts to fulfill blood needs, Dr. Rizani said that he had made various efforts, including donor activities according to the specified schedule, carrying out blood donation with a ball pick-up system with the Blood Donor Unit Car, as well as solicitation of donors through various media.

In addition to picking up the ball, he hopes that UDD PMI services in Buleleng Regency will be in a new building located at Jalan Yudistira Utara No. 2A Singaraja in front of the Giri Putri Singaraja tennis court will be able to raise awareness and courage to participate in blood donation, because it has been separated from Buleleng Hospital.

“This new building is very representative, it can serve 24 hours and for donors, it can serve until 6 pm every day. Especially during this pandemic, there is a feeling of fear for donors because they enter the hospital area. Now with this new building, we hope that the people of Buleleng can happily share and help each other to donate their blood,” he hoped.

Meanwhile, one of the donors, Gede Hari Yuda Pratama, was met after the donor at the PMI UDD building in Buleleng Regency from Jinengdalemn Village said that he was a donor because there had been notification for the next donor via a short message from PMI.

“I have donated 30 times, today it happened that a friend's family needed blood. It fits the schedule because I donated 2 months ago. Especially now that the new building is very comfortable with strict procedures. Hopefully donating this drop of blood can help others. Don't be afraid to donate," he said.

For information, the new building facilities for UDD PMI Buleleng Regency are the former Secretariat of IDI and IBI Kab. Buleleng and has been operating since August 1, has facilities for a doctor's examination room, a donor room with 3 beds, a restroom, and a laboratory with a total of 22 employees and 2 doctors.
