PAS Regent Asks BPKPD to Design Innovations to Maximize Tax Collection

The Regent of Buleleng, Putu Agus Suradnyana, ST realized that the Covid-19 pandemic had a major impact on tax revenues in Buleleng Regency. Related to that, the Regional Finance and Revenue Management Agency (BPKPD) of Buleleng Regency was asked to design creative innovations to motivate people to obey in paying taxes. This was conveyed by Regent Agus Suradnyana in his speech to officially open the 2021 PBB-P2 Tax Lottery Prize and Fisheries Sector at the Atiti Lobby of the Buleleng Regent's Office, Friday (10/9).

The pandemic condition that is still hitting Buleleng is the main factor that tax collections are not optimal. Almost all sectors are heavily affected, especially the tourism sector which indirectly affects other sectors. "I am well aware of the economic condition of the people of Buleleng during this pandemic. However, paying taxes is mandatory. So to further ease the burden of tax arrears, it is wise to eliminate tax penalties and others," said the Buleleng Regent.

Regarding the economy in Buleleng, the Regent who is familiarly called PAS is optimistic that the pandemic condition will quickly pass with the quick vaccination target step being achieved in Buleleng in particular and Bali in general. "Tomorrow I will face the Governor of Bali, I will tell you that we dare to fight against Covid-19. If the Center does not provide a booster, then the Provincial Government is expected to provide a booster to people who interact with economic and tourism activities. The booster was chosen to use modern and Pfizer," explained the PAS Regent.

The number one person in Buleleng believes this step can accelerate Bali through this pandemic, while still implementing health protocols in daily activities.

Regarding the tax draw, the Regent appreciated the performance of BPKPD Buleleng which has been able to hold this event regularly every year. "The reciprocal relationship between the obligation to pay taxes and what the taxpayers can benefit from," concluded the PAS Regent.

This was conveyed by the Coordinator for the Data and Information Sector of the Covid-19 Task Force of Buleleng Regency Ketut Suwarmawan, S.STP. Regarding the development of Covid-19 data in Buleleng Regency, Ketut Suwarmawan explained, today there were 30 recoveries, while there were only 21 confirmed cases, 3 deaths from Covid-19, and 188 active patients in treatment. Meanwhile, cumulatively in Buleleng Regency, 10,215 confirmed cases were recorded, with details of 9,517 recoveries, 510 deaths, and 188 people being treated.
