9. PlayStation 3 Super Slim - 2012


At the 2012 Tokyo Game Show, Sony finally introduced the latest model variant of their flagship console, the Playstation 3 (PS3) Super Slim. Sony did not change the specifications of this Playstation 3 innards at all and only changed its shape to be more "slim" than its predecessor. Playstation 3 Super Slim comes with a size 50% smaller than the original Playstation 3 and 25% smaller than the PS3 Slim.

The launch of the Super Slim variant also didn't boost sales of the PS3 console. Despite being slimmer, the Super Slim variant is referred to as a console with a rather strange shape because it uses a sliding lid that looks cheap.


10. PS Vita - 2011

In 2011, Sony finally released its newest handheld called PS Vita in Japan. Unlike the PSP, this handheld can provide sharper graphics so you can play more beautiful games. As an additional feature of the PSP, the Vita has two analog sticks mounted on the left and right with support for the PS Vita card format feature. PS Vita also comes with a Remote Play feature that allows PS3 and PS4 users to play games via the handheld.


11. PlayStation 4 - 2013

In 2013, Sony finally released its fourth-generation console, the PlayStation 4 (PS4). For a console that was released in 2013, the PS4 is still a console capable enough to play the latest games. The PS4 already uses amazing technology. The processor used is an AMD Jaguar x86-64 eight-core. Then there is a second processor chip to facilitate multitasking, which allows users to play while updating or downloading the latest games.

In terms of graphics, there is no need to doubt because the PS4 can play full HD very comfortably. Even the average game on the PS4 already supports full HD. PS4 has a futuristic design plus a futuristic controller too. Sony still maintains the wireless controller, but this time the PS4 controller has a touchpad that is useful for hovering over the cursor. In addition, the appearance is also slimmer than the PS3 generation.


12. PlayStation 4 Slim - 2016

After three years of selling PS4 Fat, Sony finally presented the PlayStation 4 (PS4) Slim variant in 2016. As the name suggests, this Slim variant is the smallest and slimmest variant. Sony has also implemented a simpler design, where the glossy panel is no longer included, and the power button is replaced with a physical power button so it won't be easy to touch anymore.

The appearance is now more like a sandwich, and we can no longer see the blue streak of light when the PlayStation 4 slim is turned on. The size and weight are also the smallest compared to the other two variants, making this type the most suitable for those of you who don't have much space in your house or boarding house.


13. PlayStation 4 Pro - 2016

The era of 4K graphics and HDR made Sony create the highest variant console, namely the PlayStation 4 Pro in 2016. The PlayStation 4 Pro is arguably the most expensive type among the three. Because this type has stronger hardware specifications so that it offers performance far beyond the two variants of other consoles.

PlayStation 4 Pro is the type with the largest and heaviest size. The shape is almost like the PlayStation 4 Slim, but there is a new layer in the middle that makes it look like a triple sandwich. Just like the slim version, this type also uses the physical power button and the gloss panel is also not included anymore.


14. PlayStation Classic - 2018

Sony is following in Nintendo's footsteps by re-launching its original console in mini versions, namely the NES and SNES Classic. For the first time, Sony will release a mini version of the old PlayStation console (PS1) with a new name, PlayStation Classic in 2018. Compared to the original version. PlayStation Classic 2018 shrunk 45 percent in size.

Design and color, still the same as the PS consoles of the 90s. Despite having a similar design, some original features are updated. Sony also offers two classic PS1 controllers that support multiplayer gaming with every bundling purchase. This console also features 20 legendary genre-specific games pre-loaded, including Final Fantasy VII, Tekken 3, and Ridge Racer Type 4.


15. PlayStation 5 - 2020

In 2020, Sony plans to release its fifth-generation console, the PlayStation 5 (PS5). This console is called Sony will have specifications that are not much different from the Xbox Series X. PS5 is equipped with a custom processor and GPU from AMD, which uses the Zen 2 architecture and RDNA 2. The CPU both have 8 cores, and the GPU has the capability of computing up to 10.28 TFLOPS. In addition, the PS5 is also equipped with 16 GB of RAM and an 825 GB SSD which can be added to an NVMe SSD.

Although it has revealed the specifications and form of the DualSense controller, Sony is still keeping a secret about what the PlayStation 5 console will look like. Godfall, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, Watch Dogs: Legion, Gods and Monsters, Rainbow Six Quarantine, and the latest games from Bluepoint Studios.
