PO Rosalia Indah is known as a PO that has the largest double-decker bus fleet in Indonesia.
We had the opportunity to try this bus service, with the Jakarta-Solo route. The class we chose was sleeper class or first class. What is it like to ride a bus with the concept of 'laying down'?
Land transportation services continue to improve along with the construction of the Trans Java toll road. Not only triggering the birth of a bus fleet with premium chassis, but good road infrastructure also triggers the birth of new passenger classes, such as the sleeper class which is currently being popular.
After Pulogebang Terminal, the bus stopped at the PO Rosalia Indah pool in Bekasi to pick up passengers. After that, the bus stops in the Subang area to rest and eat at the rest area of PO Rosalia Indah. This break time is fairly short, only about 30 minutes.
According to the tagline, this bus goes full speed on the Trans Java Toll Road, so the trip can be taken in around 9 hours. We arrived in Solo City at 16.23 WIB. In full, here is a review of our trip with the first-class double-decker PO Rosalia Indah:
1. Facilities and Features
Sleeper class PO Rosalia Indah passengers are provided with several facilities, including head pillows, bolster pillows and blankets. In addition, passengers are also given a bottle of mineral water with a capacity of 600 ml. Like premium buses in general, the double-decker PO Rosalia Indah bus is also equipped with public toilets that can only be used to urinate and may be used when the bus is running.
For information, the location of this sleeper class is behind the driver's cabin. Its position is a bit high because it is located right above the front wheels. There are 2 sleeper classes, namely numbers 1A and 1B. Several features are also embedded in this class, such as TV screens, 5 USB plugs, reading lights, cup holders, and compartments to store bags or items. To maintain passenger privacy, some curtains or curtains can be shifted.
2. Meal Service
One of the mainstays offered by the first-class PO Rosalia Indah is the foodservice. So shortly after the bus runs from the departure terminal, the flight attendant will offer a choice of food menus that can be ordered. Among others, there is chicken or rice, catfish Pecel rice, fried rice, Rawon, and others. While the choice of drinking there is iced tea or hot tea, and coffee. Passengers can only order one type of food and one type of drink.
Because they had ordered from the beginning of the trip, when they arrived at the RM Rest Area Rosin Subang, the food that was ordered was ready to be served to first-class passengers. detikOto ordered chicken or rice and sweet iced tea. Regarding the taste of the food and drinks, we give it an 8.5 out of 10. Oh yes, the dining room for first-class passengers is also distinguished from the dining room for other class passengers. So the impression is more exclusive.
3. Comfort Level
Talking about comfort, we, who have a body posture of 165 cm and a weight of 78 kg, must be careful when climbing into the cabin of this sleeper class bus. Understandably, the distance between the seats and the roof in this class is quite short. So when in an upright sitting position, the head is almost touching the AC louver. The seat itself is quite comfortable, the material is soft, the dimensions are wide, and our legs can still be stretched out.
The fun thing is, there is an electric reclining seat. So passengers can adjust the angle of the seat tilt according to comfort and needs. But it should be noted, this seat can not be laid flat, yes. The reason is related to the safety factor. Passenger luggage can be placed in the rear trunk or the aisle between the two sleeper class cabins.
Then what about the shaking? Considering that the sleeper class cabin is located right above the wheels, it is undeniable that the shocks are quite pronounced, especially for passengers who are first-time sleeper class passengers like us. In addition, outside noise (road noise) that enters the cabin is also quite audible, especially when the bus is doing top speed. But when the bus has been running for a while, passengers will get used to it and can sleep soundly.
According to Danang, the flight attendant on duty on this double-decker bus, the sleeper class is often the target of consumers. Danang claims that prospective sleeper class passengers must book in advance days so as not to run out of tickets for this class. "Sleeper class is usually ordered by passengers who work immediately as soon as they arrive in Jakarta. So from Central Java, he takes a night bus. Well, along the way he can sleep soundly in sleeper class. As soon as he arrives in Jakarta in the morning, his body is fresh and ready to work," Danang said,
