EMTK wants 17% of RANS; Raffi Ahmad will receive $248 million.
Raffi Ahmad's parent company, PT Elang Mahkota Teknologi Tbk (EMTK), will invest in a company founded by Raffi Ahmad, RANS Entertainment.
The plan is for the Emtek Group to invest through a subsidiary, PT Indonesia Entertainment Group, a subsidiary of PT Surya Citra Media Tbk (SCMA).
RANS Entertainment's deposit for the issuance of new shares to PT Indonesia Entertainment Group will be made through a deposit amounting to Rp 248 billion in stages for a share ownership of around 17% in RANS Entertainment, said Emtek's Corporate Secretary, Titi Maria Rusli, quoted on Friday (12/11/2021) in information disclosure. Emtek's management revealed that the company is always open to exploring cooperation with strategic partners, including RANS Entertainment, which can support the business development of the company and its subsidiaries in the media, technology, and digital fields.
Titi emphasized that this transaction is not a material transaction and does not meet the value limit based on POJK No. 17 of 2020.
Meanwhile, the impact of this collaboration is that the company or advertisers will get one-stop service from the growing company group ecosystem.
In addition, the company group also expects market share growth that can contribute to consolidated profitability growth.
For the record, the previous synergies between the Emtek Group and RANS Entertainment have surfaced since the two parties announced a synergy plan titled "New Chapter of RANS and Emtek."
The two media and entertainment groups announced a partnership and will work together to broadcast a number of selected programs through the RANS and Emtek platforms.
